Claim 52 Hosts Canning Party for 'Sah-Brah?' Collab with Allegory Brewing

On Friday, September 13, Claim 52 Brewing will release its collaboration with Allegory Brewing, a dry-hopped Mexican lager called "Sah Brah?" in cans for the first time. At the event, which starts at 4:00 at Claim's brewery taproom at 1030 Tyinn St. in West Eugene, the beer will be canned "live" and available for purchase as it comes off the line.

"We've had a lot of fun with the 'Live Releases'!" says Claim 52's head brewer, Bryce Fisher. "It's a fun interactive experience." Claim installed a canning line earlier this year, and is taking full advantage of it in their own way. This is actually the second brew of the dry-hopped Mexican-style lager; the first was brewed at Allegory, but not canned.

Brewed simply with pilsner malt and flaked corn, and fermented with Imperial Yeast's "Que Bueno" strain, the beer takes a tropical turn with the addition of Sabro hops, a newer variety on the market. "The Sabro hop lends heavy notes of coconut/piña colada," says Allegory's head brewer Charlie van Meter. "Perfect beer for a hot day or the perfect beer to transport you to a tropical beach on a rainy day."

Folks who celebrate "Floral Friday" will appreciate the brewery's offer of a $1 can if they wear a Hawaiian shirt to the event.
