New for 2019 are 21 and under "Family Tours" on Oct 19th, 26th and Nov 2nd where parents can taste beer samples while their kids can enjoy non-alcoholic beverages during the tour.  Tours start from Kells Irish Pub in downtown Portland.

More from a press release:

BeerQuest' s Haunted Pub Tour is a historical journey into Portland’s wicked past. Guests meet the real ghosts of Old Town, hear accounts of paranormal encounters and journey into the Shanghai Tunnels– all while sampling 6 local beers. BeerQuest was recently recognized with the 2019 Trip Advisor Hall of Fame Award and has over 300 positive online reviews. This tour is the perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit.

In addition to the paranormal, this tour uncovers Portland’s lawless past. Lively with restaurants and nightlife today, 100 years ago Old Town was home to many of less savory establishments – opium dens, brothels, underground speakeasies and kidnaping rings. In the 1800’s, unknowing sailors were ruthlessly abducted and whisked away through an underground labyrinth known as the Shanghai Tunnels.

This tour includes an exclusive 30-minute visit underground into one of Portland’s original Shanghai Tunnels. Please note you will encounter dirt/mud floors and a dark, enclosed space during this brief underground experience. This eerie tunnel system has been featured on the TV show “Ghost Adventures” and is known as one of Portland’s most haunted places.

The Halloween Haunted Pub Tour is roughly 2.5 hours and rated as mildly spooky. The tour stops at 2 local pubs and includes 6 local craft beer samples. This tour often sells out, especially around Halloween. Tours are limited to 20 people and advanced booking is required.
