More from a press release:

Beer, Cider, Love now in its seventh year, brings together a marriage of beer and cider, inspired by the loving partnership of Fort George’s Sales Manager, Tim Ensign and Northwest Cider Association’s Program Manager, Jana Daisy-Ensign. The spark of their youthful love story first ignited working on a small brewery bottling line in Northern California. Their love has now burned bright for twenty years, while both have worked in the respected craft beverage community of the Pacific Northwest. When Jana plunged fully into cider, the uniqueness and universality of their craft beverage love story inspired the inception of Beer, Cider, Love.

Fort George Brewery has played a key role in this craft beverage love affair. In 2008, Tim and Jana had the privilege of helping bring Fort George’s beloved beer to the Oregon market as their regional distributor. Tim went on to represent this Pacific-Northwest-Exclusive brewery ten years ago, and never looked back. Growing with the brewery, and bearing witness to their successful expansion has been an opportunity to see limitless love for the brewery’s community, crew and customers unfolding. The consistency and fierceness with which their incredible selections are celebrated is well warranted.

Last year, the couple was humbled and honored to collaborate with their long-time mentor and dear friend, Alan Sprints along with the legendary culinary team at Hair of the Dog Brewing. Alan has been an influential leader in the craft beer world and a personal inspiration to the couple since they first arrived on the Portland craft scene nearly two decades ago. Hair of the Dog, having recently celebrated their 25 year anniversary, exemplifies how family bonds and love are truly the vital heartbeat of the brewing world. Alan’s sister, Wendy expertly runs the taproom and he has shared the art of craft brewing with his three sons. Hair of the Dog beers are recognized, respected and sought after worldwide.

This year, Kevin Zielinski of E.Z. Orchards Cidre graciously joins the event, also presenting some of the region’s most respected and sought after craft ciders. E.Z. Orchards has long helped spark a reviving interest in cider. Kevin’s skillful cidermaking shows a breadth of beauty possible with fermented apples. Based in the Willamette Valley, Kevin’s family has a rooted history, as orchardists since the 1920s. They began dedicatedly producing cidre apples in 2000. Heirloom cidre apples including French and English bittersweets, and American semi-sharps are grown with specific cidre blends in mind. The intention and love that go into crafting E.Z. Orchard’s offerings come through in each sip.

Beer, Cider, Love 2020 dinner brings together the artisanal offerings of three Oregon craft beverage producers, expertly paired with innovative cuisine. Doors open at 6pm, dinner starts at 6:30pm.
