Von Ebert's Never Tell Imperial IPA Nabs Fresh Medal

Von Ebert Brewing won a Bronze medal at the Oregon Beer Awards for their first Imperial IPA called "Never Tell." Not co-incidentally, Never Tell is an Imperial version of Volatile Substance which was The New School's Best IPA in 2019 and also won a OBA gold for the fresh hop version. Today, Thursday, February 20, Von Ebert Brewing is releasing 16oz cans of Never Tell at both their NW brewpub and NE Glendoveer locations.

Just as with Volatile Substance, Never Tell was brewed with Yakima-grown Mosaic and Simcoe hops and and blend of Pils and Vienna malts. Australian-grown Galaxy hops add an additional layer of complexity and help the hop character stand up to the higher alcohol and bigger body. This addition helped produce a bigger, imperial-style beer. Expect some of the same mixed-berry, pine, and dank hop character present in Volatile Substance, but in a version pushing it to the next level.  The new Imperial IPA is 10.0% ABV and 102 IBUs.

Never Tell will be available on Thursday, February 20, in cans and on draft at both Von Ebert locations - Glendoveer and the Pearl.
