Melvin Brewing releases 4 new Cans for Spring/Summer
Melvin Brewing has a busy late Spring headed into summer with a series of new beers in 16 and 12oz cans. Hopheads rejoice, because this latest round has Star Valley IPA, Boom Shakazzaca Hazy IPA, and experimental series Nordic IPA and Asian-style Imperial Pilsner.

Five years ago Melvin packed our bags, left Jackson, and followed the Snake River south to Star Valley. We staked our claim on six acres of land overlooking Palisades Reservoir, built our brewing Mothership, and started churning out exponentially more Madness. Whenever possible, we enjoy what the Valley offers us; surfing the West Coast of Wyoming in the beautiful summers, snowmobiling to the backcountry (and sometimes work!) in the rugged winters, and gazing up at the universe in the evening all year round, can in hand. BOOM SHAKAZACCA Hazy IIPA | JUNE-JULY | ABV: 8.4% | IBU: 60
Video games are quite realistic these days, but like many of you we grew up on the wonders of 8-bit and 16-bit gaming technology. We paid homage to the classic game NBA Jam with the name Boom ShakAzacca! We knew we had to go hard in the paint with the recipe, so we filled up this hazy imperial IPA with wheat & oats, then triple-double dry hopped it with absurd amounts of Azacca, turbo button down the whole way. Bursting with juicy tropical flavors, Boom ShakAzacca is about to bring you some “Razzle Dazzle!”
NORDIC IPA | APRIL-MAY | ABV: 6% | 62 IBUs
It’s time to get Frothy with it! Our new experiMENTAL Series release for April is Frothy Embrace. For our latest brew excursion we experimented with an ancient Nordic yeast called Kveik, known for its freakish fermenting capabilities. We let a fresh pitch of Kveik go to town on some oats and 2-row malt, and then dry-hopped it with Trident and Sabro to embrace you senses with bright flavors of passionfruit, tangerine & coconut. Feel the Froth.
ASIAN-STYLE IMPERIAL PILSNER | JUNE-JULY | ABV: 8% | 25 IBU
This round of RUMTUM label art had us dreaming of the brightly colored sampan boats floating in the Pacific harbors of the Far East, and our palates yearning for a rice lager. So we started with an Asian-style Pilsner recipe made with jasmine rice, then added our Melvin brew Kung-Fu, amping it up to 8% ABV and fermenting it with sake yeast. The result is a crisp and bright beer with a fluffy mouthfeel and pleasant minerality that leaves it dangerously drinkable. You'll be anxious to pull up anchor and sail these seas.
