Great Notion Brewing to Open 2nd Seattle location in Georgetown

Georgetown

Great Notion Brewing, Portland's purveyors of hazy and juicy IPA's, confection-inspired stouts, and fruit packed sours, are opening a second Seattle location in the Georgetown neighborhood. Great Notion Georgetown will open ahead of the previously announced Seattle location coming to Ballard later this year.

"Our Ballard spot seemed like it was going to be getting delayed again and again so we decided to jump on this Georgetown location," says Great Notion's co-owner Paul Reiter. The Georgetown neighborhood is bounded by rail lines and near the Seattle airport, it's been known to be a mostly industrial district but has been growing in recent years with an impressive list of breweries and restaurants.

"It’s a super bad ass small neighborhood, a little bit far from Ballard, and one of the first neighborhoods you hit getting into Seattle from Portland," says Reiter on why they chose Georgetown.

Great Notion Georgetown will be right next to Lowercase Brewing in the space currently occupied by Mercer Estate Winery's tasting room at 6235 Airport Way South, Suite 102. The space will be Great Notion's first taproom without a kitchen, food can be brought in from their neighbors at Lowercase Brewing and a collaboration beer is in the works with them as well.

The Great Notion Georgetown taproom will open ahead of the previously announced Ballard location which has been delayed due to Coronavirus. GN Georgetown will be the 4th location for the brewery with the Ballard location becoming the 5th. From their Georgetown base, the brewery will be able to host beer pick-ups for orders placed via the new Great Notion App and ship beers out to Washington customers. The taproom will feature 20 taps of draft beer, and have a large outdoor patio. Great Notion hopes to open the Georgetown taproom by the end of July 2020.
