2018 The Year in Photos

Rather than recap 2018 in words (you can read our top 10 stories of the year here) we do it in pictures. Every year we snap a lot of pics and I think they are getting better each year even though many are never used in an article. Pictured above and below.Oregon brewers did well at the 2018 World Beer Cup which is held every other year at the Craft Brewers Conference, this year in Nashville. Hood Brewing opened a Portland location at Tilikum Crossing right next to the train tracks, check out our first look preview here.Sampling barrel-aged ciders and single apple varietals Abe ahead of the Pressing Matters real ale and cider festival.pFriem, Stormbreaker, Breakside and many others did very well at the 2018 Oregon Beer Awards, check out our recap.John Harris received the lifetime achievement award being inducted into the Oregon Beer Hall of Fame.Benedictine Brewery, a monk owned and ran brewery in Mt. Angel, OR finally opened up and we were among the first to visit.We visited Cannon Beach and met with Public Coast Brewing owner Martin Snyder and brewer Will Leroux (pictured above) and wrote about what's making the sleepy beach town a great new beer travel spot.Claim 52 Kitchen opened up in Eugene, check out our first look of this new beer and food destination.Homebrewers really get dressed up for the national Homebrew Con which was in Portland in 2018.The cheese board (above) and the wings (below) became must trys at the new Von Ebert Brewing with locations in NW and NE Portland.
