Black Out Beer Fest BEER LIST:

54-40 Brewing Co | John Wayne (American Stout)This full bodied offering is back for the winter and full of layered complexity. Coffee, chocolate, roasted nuts, and delicate floral hops dominate the nose. The Duke once said, “Talk low, talk slow, and don’t say too much.” John Wayne Stout embodies that thought perfectly. Just because it doesn’t run its mouth doesn’t mean it’s got nothing to say. 5.3% ABV, 40 IBUBreakside Brewery | Cultivating Mass (Imperial Baltic Porter)Smooth as silk, Baltic Porters demand incredible brewing skill and patience. To make this decadent beer, Breakside layered on one dark malt after another, performed two mashes to get the rich body where they wanted it, coaxed it through a long and cool fermentation, and aged it for nearly 18 months in Bourbon barrels from Kentucky's storied Heaven Hill distillery. 10.5% ABV, 30 IBUBuoy Beer Company | CHAI Fighter (Vanilla Stout)A long time ago, in a brewery not so far away… a stout was born. Like the unforgettable symbol of the Empire it was named after, the CHAI Fighter spiced stout remains our only hope for control of the galaxy. This complex and creamy stout is layered with flavors of black tea, toasted green cardamom pods. A mélange of spices including Ceylon cinnamon, clove, allspice, and whole vanilla bean coalesce to form the ultimate power for the Empire and the dark side. 7.4%, 20 IBUBurnside Brewing Co | Saga (Oregon Whiskey Barrel Aged Imperial Stout)The story of the Saga began in 2010 when Burnside did the whiskey wash for Bull Run’s “all Oregon single malt whiskey.” The whiskey was made with all Oregon grown malts and aged in oak barrels for 5+ years. Those same barrels were brought back to the brewery and filled with an imperial stout. The project has come full circle and Burnside Brewing has created a full-bodied yet graceful stout that melds the flavors of the oak and the grain. 10.5% ABV, 65 IBUCoin Toss Brewing Co. | Pie Hohl (Cherry Ginger Stout)This stout is brewed with three different malts, flaked oats, and 1.5 lbs. of fresh ginger, then finished with 44 lbs. of sour cherries. 6.2% ABV, 35 IBUDouble Mountain Brewery & Taproomy | Heather Canyon (Double Black Ale)There’s nothing that pairs better with deep powder and sunshine than roasted malts and copious amounts of hops. Dank pine and red grapefruit carve through a dark base that finishes clean. Unlike powder days, the folks at Double Mountain suggest you share this with your friends. 7.3% ABV, 70 IBUEcliptic Brewing | A.L.F. Stout (Irish Stout)Ecliptic's tribute to Alien life forms, this dry Irish Stout lends a soft smooth mouthfeel with a slight tartness from the use of acidulated malt. Notes of cacao and roast round out this beer, followed by a very clean finish. 5% ABV, 30 IBUEverybody's Brewing | Cookie Monster (Imperial Milk Stout)Brewed with locally made monster cookies, roasted peanuts, and cocoa nibs, this monster is dark and RICH! With copious amounts of chocolate malt and lactose, the mild roasted notes are balanced by a subtle vanilla-like creaminess. 10% ABV, 85 IBUFort George Brewery | Bourbon Barrel Matryoshka 2018 (Russian Imperial Stout)This Russian Imperial Stout was aged in Four Roses Bourbon barrels. 12.8% ABVGigantic Brewing Company | Nevørmind Oyster StoutGigantic's brewers traveled to the cold, salty waters of Netarts Bay to source the oysters for this roasty, briny Oyster Stout from Nevør Shellfish Farm. Into the boil they put 20 dozen oysters and 50 liters of oyster "liquor." The beer is roasty and chocolaty, with subtle mineral and briny notes. 5.2% ABV, 28 IBULompoc Beer | Batch 69 Baltic PorterThis strong dark beer has hints of chocolate and black licorice. It was brewed with a lager yeast giving it a much cleaner and smoother finish than a traditional porter. 7.7% ABVLompoc Beer | Lomporter (Porter)Lomporter is a premium porter that offers a creamy taste of dark chocolate complemented by dark cherry and hints of coffee. Brewed with dark wheat, rausch, and chocolate malts, this beer strikes a fine balance between heavy and light. It’s robust enough to sip, but smooth enough to have another...and maybe another...and, well, you get the picture! 6.4% ABVLompoc Beer | Lump of Coal (Imperial Porter)An Imperial Porter fermented with and aged on sour cherries for six weeks in a stainless steel tank. Notes of chocolate and cherries permeate with hints of tobacco and leather, leaving a tangy finish on the palate. 8% ABVLompoc Beer | Port Barrel Aged Cimmerian (Dark Belgian Style Ale)This dark Belgian style ale was aged in Maryhill Winery Port barrels for five months, lending a touch of oak on the nose with an essence of plums. The addition of oats and wheat give off a smooth mouthfeel. 8% ABVOccidental Brewing Company | Barrel Aged Lucubrator (Doppelbock)This Barrel Aged Doppelbock, which won a World Beer Cup gold medal, is malty and boozy, with a clean finish. 6.8% ABVOld Town Brewing | Chocwork Orange (Porter)Porter brewed with orange peel.Oproer | Black Flag (CDA)This beer is a hybrid of an IPA and a stout: dark in color, full-bodied, but also chock-full of hop bitterness and flavor. A grist of Pale Ale, Amber, Cara-Crystal, Chocolate, and Rye malts with some Roasted Barley, all steeped in Utrecht tapwater, get balanced by Cascade, Cascade, and more Cascade hops. A clean American style yeast allows the malt and hops to shine. 6.5% ABV, 75 IBUpFriem Family Brewers | Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial StoutThe first imperial stouts were high-alcohol concoctions brewed for Czar Peter the Great of Russia. This Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout absorbs the tannins of Oola Distiller’s bourbon barrels for a full year, resulting in huge roasted malt, chocolate mousse, coconut, and ripe cherry flavors that may leave you feeling like a bit of a monarch yourself! 11.5% ABVPINTS Brewing Company | Black Pearl CDAThe Black Pearl gives you the hop flavors of an IPA while showing the darker side of the brewer’s soul. Dosed with just enough Carafa II to bring out the dark brown/black, the smooth, lightly malty flavors meld with the blend of 6 hops to remind you that we live in a land of hops: Cascade, Bravo, El Dorado, X-05256, X-04190 and UK Admiral. 6.9% ABVRoots Brewing | Roots Epic AleThis vintage beer features 60 pounds of malt hand-smoked over cherrywood soaked in Glenlivet, cognac and cherry juice. Smoked toffee and cherry notes on the palate and the nose lead to a warm, bittersweet finish. More than 1,700 pounds of malt and 65 pounds of hops make this a truly epic ale. 14% ABVStormbreaker Brewing | Evil Girl StoutRich and chocolaty fudge brownies in a glass. The brewers added generous amounts of cocoa powder, vanilla bean, and a ton of alcohol. Need we say more? 10% ABVThunder Island Brewing Company | Oregon Pony CDAAn homage to the historic Oregon Pony steam locomotive, this beer is a deep, dark, and hoppy rye IPA designed to warm the body while watching the trains pass on a cold winter day. A nice dark malt bill is backed with Simcoe and Citra hops and double dry hopped to bring it all together. Deceptively smooth.Uptown Market | Dirty Shepherd (Oak Aged Imperial Stout)A rich, oak aged Imperial Stout brimming with dark roasted coffee and chocolate notes that are balanced with oak and hints of vanilla. 10.1% ABVWidmer Brothers Brewing | Black Dynamite (Baltic Porter)Brewer Scott Kacek bit into a lemon/peppercorn/chocolate bar and BOOM! – the idea for this Specialty Baltic Porter was born. Local chocolate nibs, fresh lemon zest and peppercorns were added at various stages. The base beer, a Baltic Porter, was a natural selection to help hold up to the bold flavors. 7.8% ABV, 50 IBUZoiglhaus Brewing Company | SchwarzbierA clean, light malt sweetness from the Pilsner and Munich malts, a gentle roast note from the Carafa II and moderate bitterness and hop flavor. 4.8% ABV
