Bridgeport Brewing 4/20 Hazy IPA Release Party

BridgePort Brewing, fresh off a remodel and new pilot system installation at its NW Portland pub, is celebrating the release of the new Hazy IPA in 12oz bottles and 6-packs with a party on Friday, April 20th from 4:30-7pm. If you haven't checked out the new bar and additional taps with more old school and new pilot creations at the Pearl District pub, this is a good excuse to go by.Hazy IPA is Bridgeport's first foray into the East Coast/NE-style IPA and holding the party on 4/20 is a nod towards Portland's love of dankness and hazy smoke clouds. Guests to the party can expect $4.20 pints, happy hour priced beer cocktails, a DJ, and complimentary brewery tours.Hazy IPAThe Hazy IPA creates a ton of hop flavor while keeping hop bitterness low. We use our pale malt combined with Malted and Un-malted White Wheat to create a smooth and slightly hazy background malt flavor. We then do something that we’ve never done before:  we don’t add any kettle hops! To accentuate the incredible flavors of Mosaic, Centennial, and Liberty hops, we add all of the brew house hops in the Hopjack after the boil. This way we capture as much of the aroma of these excellent hops without creating a lot of bitterness. Near the end of fermentation we dry hop with Mosaic and an Experimental hop from John I. Haas.ABV: 6.9%BU’s: 42The Hazy IPA is now available in six-packs (12oz.) for purchase in stores across 12 states.
