Deschutes Brewery Introduces Da Shootz! Pilsner

Deschutes Brewery has released Da Shootz! a low alcohol Pilsner with a name that makes fun of the often mispronounced name of the brewery (mis-pronounced mainly by those who have never been to the Pacific Northwest.) This is an interesting release for a couple of reasons; Deschutes already has Pacific Wonderland Lager in the year-round lineup, and a handful of years the brewery introduced a session beer called River Ale that was axed not long after. Deschutes seems to be on a quest to emulate the success of beers like Full Sail's Session, crushable low-ABV beers that consumers will purchase by the 12-pack and down in a weekend. It's also part of a growing trend towards "healthier" beers with lower calories and low ABV.Da Shootz commercial description:DES-cahooties? DAY-shoots? DES-schwett-ays? We’ve heard it all over the 30 years we’ve been brewing craft beer. So…we’re making it easy this time around.Simple in design, this beer is made to pair with DOING! There’s really no activity or non-activity that wouldn’t pair perfectly with this beer. Leave the beer creation obstacles and overthinking to us. Cheers!
