PublicHouse Celebrates 1st Anniversary

PublicHouse, one of the best new beer bars in the Northwest, is celebrating their 1st anniversary in Springfield, Oregon. The beer bar inside a former church is not only one of the most beautiful spots to enjoy a beer, but has a great taplist as well. In the same building as the beer bar, you can also find a whiskey bar, a beer garden, and a mini food hall. PublicHouse celebrates their one year anniversary this weekend with a fresh hop fest, Oktoberfest, and more from Friday, September 20th through Sunday, September 22nd.

Since opening, PublicHouse has not only made our "best new beer bars" list, but many other national publications' best-of lists. Public House was named the “Best Destination” for 2019 by Travel Lane County, “Business of the Year” by the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, and one of the “Top 10 Coolest Places in America to Drink Craft Beer” by Men’s Journal.

To commemorate this landmark, PublicHouse will be releasing a special anniversary Helles Lager in collaboration with Pelican Brewing. Pelican will be on-site on Friday with their T-Shirt Press. Spin to Win a commemorative t-shirt.

Friday, September 20. PublicHouse will be kicking off the weekend with an Oktoberfest Celebration complete with live music, German brews & German-inspired food from the 5 food purveyors. Commemorative steins will be available for purchase, with or without a fill of beer. At 4pm, Springfield Mayor Christine Lundberg will be tapping a ceremonial Paulaner keg followed by the Roseburg German Band. At 5pm there will be a Stein Hoisting Competition followed by more live music with Taide Pineda at 6:15pm and ZuhG at 8pm.

Oktoberfest Brews: Oktoberfest brews will be on tap! Here are some of the beers you can look forward to tasting:

  • Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest
  • Paulaner Hefeweisse and Furstenberg Pilsner
  • Pelican’s Helles, Bronze God Marzen, Cactus Queen & India Pelican Ale
  • Sunriver Brewing’s Holy Schmitt Oktoberfest & Schwarz
  • Ayinger’s Dopplebock
  • The Wheel’s Harvest Fest

Saturday- Sunday, September 21-22. Tis' the season for Fresh Hops! PublicHouse will have 10+ fresh hop brews on draft over the weekend, and they are throwing in some live music just to keep it extra fresh. Saturday night at 7:30pm, Portland-based blues/rock band, Ripe Red Apple. Sunday afternoon at 4pm, they welcome back Sweet & Juicy, the funky trio that puts on one of the best live shows.

Event Cocktails: The Whiskey Lab will be featuring the all time best selling cocktails over PublicHouse’s first year. The crew is also busy concocting specialty fresh hop beverages to celebrate the bounty of the Pacific Northwest. Here are some of the cocktails you can expect:
