Silver Falls Brewery plans major Expansion

For every brewery closure, there is a success story like Silver Falls Brewing. Located in Silverton, Oregon, Silver Falls opened in 2015 and has been a big hit in this small town near Salem. So much so, that they are constructing a major two-story expansion behind their ale house in downtown Silverton.

Silver Falls expansion project calls for a new ICC Northwest fabricated 10bbl brewhouse featuring a unique hybrid of direct fire and electric oil heating. Marks Metalworks is making their cellar tanks and an oil heating system for their steam jackets. Currently, Silver Falls brews off-site on a 2 barrel electric nano system in co-owner/brewer Eric Druliner's garage, it will be relocated and become a pilot system. Silver Falls will go from a projected 230 barrels annual capacity in 2019 to around 900 barrels in 2020, and increase further from there.

The current ale house restaurant and taproom that Silver Falls operates at 207 Jersey St, Silverton, OR 97381 will have a new second story taproom and full kitchen in the expansion. The add-on will increase seating capacity and operate in tandem with the alehouse to add a larger full kitchen with a second floor dining room and deck with views to the brewery. Chef Paul Brakeman and Kitchen Director Emily Rettenmaier are overseeing the kitchen build-out and construction began last week.

Ratchet Brewery out of Salem, is the only other brewery in Silverton and they have yet to have a grand opening for their new taproom and brewery in the now defunct Seven Brides Brewing which closed in October 2018.
