Goodlife Brewing and BackDrop Distilling turn Brewing Waste into Hand Sanitizer

Goodlife Brewing shares a building with BackDrop Distilling in Bend, Oregon. Like many other businesses, they have been looking for ways to turn the lemons the Coronavirus has given us into lemonade.

Goodlife Brewing is donating the left over "trub" from the brewing process for BackDrop to distill into ethyl alcohol in accordance with CDC guidelines. The duo additionally enlisted the assistance of Bigfoot Beverages, EartH2O, and Grocery Outlet for distilled water and distribution for a hand sanitizer that will be donated free to local first responders.

Beginning today, Goodlife and BackDrop are providing sanitizer in bulk form to St. Charles Hospital, Air Link, Bend Fire Department, and The City of Bend Police Department. At this point, the demand is so great for this free product that it's not yet available to the public but Goodlife hopes to make it part of their beer to-go program as possible.
